Having completed the basic setup of Twine, you're now ready to start with Staff training and roll-out.
Note that depending on your deployment schedule you may proceed to Report card setup while some training activities are still pending.
School administrator Edsby overview
At this point you have a fully functional Twine environment, with everything replicated to Edsby so you're ready to go with classes, teachers, parents and students. Before throwing open the doors to everyone, we like to schedule time with our school administrators (heads of school, principals) along with technical administrators to ensure everything is right, and look at some of the school-wide capabilities Edsby provides.
Our administrator overview is typically scheduled for 45 minutes and topics include:
- Tour / online help
- ZenDesk help widget
- Twine Admins group, Quick Start guide for teachers
- Staff roles & titles
- Key Contacts
- School Calendar
- School News

- Verifying staff courses & schedule

- Getting to student accounts, resetting passwords
- Getting to parent accounts, resetting passwords

- Setup of School Talk and assignment of automated membership for staff if desired
- Review group invitation process / discovery process for students
School-Level Setup & Responsibilities

School admin follow-up / Q&A sessions
Follow-up sessions with school administrators are common during the first week or two after teachers begin using Edsby. These sessions are often used to review workflows such as attendance and how to respond to alerts shared with the Office. Follow-up sessions also often overlap with advanced feature roll-out such as permission forms for students & parents, parent-teacher conference scheduling, use of emergency alerts, and other optional Edsby/Twine features.
Initial teacher orientation sessions are generally arranged for 30 to 45 minutes, and are designed to get teachers comfortable logging in, to communicate expectations for how Twine will be used, and to generate excitement about how Twine can help them in their day-to-day responsibilities.
Typical topics covered during teacher orientation sessions include:
- Logging In
- Tours / Help
- Reset Password
- Profile Picture
- Recent Activity
- Sharing info / Feed
- Student List
- Class Setup
- Private messaging
Teacher follow-up / Q&A sessions
Following the initial teacher orientation, many schools arrange for follow-up webinars that include instruction for advanced features and/or time for question and answer once teachers have begun using the system.
