Before you drop students from your school
If a student is leaving your school in the middle of a term, best practice as of the current time of writing is to un-enroll the student from all classes in Twine, and then drop them from the school. Un-enrolling students from classes is not necessary if they leave at the end of a school year or the end of term for their classes.
Instructions for un-enrolling students from classes may be found here.
Students that were enrolled in your school in the past but are no longer enrolled can be dropped as follows:
- In Twine (https://sis.choosetwine.com) navigate to Students > Student Info and look up the student who is being dropped.
- Click on the students name to open the Student Info window. Under General Info you'll find a field where you can specify their Dropped date:
- Next to the Dropped date, you may also enter a reason code of "Moved from School" or "Expelled"
- After entering your dropped date and reason code, click Save.
Students dropped from the school will show as "inactive" within Twine, and will not be seen in your Students list in Edsby. Login access for those students will be disabled. Access for parents/guardians of dropped students is also disabled, if those parents have no other students that are enrolled at your school.
