Background
Edsby supports accountability for content with a "report inappropriate" function, allowing any user to flag content that is questionable and bring it to the attention of the front office. Once reported, the office can choose to delete that content from the system.
In a case where a student has sent a private message to another Edsby user that needs to be removed, school administrators can report the content as inappropriate and then remove it per the usual workflow.

Solution
For classes and groups
In any class or group a Teacher, Moderator, or any user with the Senior Admin role can delete content directly, using the menu on any post to delete it:
If desired, the item may be flagged first by selecting Report Inappropriate from the menu:
Using Report Inappropriate creates a report to the front office, allowing your school to retain a record of the post even after it is deleted from the original location.
For mailbox content
If the content in question was sent as a private message in Edsby, any recipient may flag the content, using the Report Inappropriate function
Reporting the item as inappropriate will trigger a report to the Office, allowing school administrators to remove the post.
In a situation where an end-user has not reported an item as inappropriate, users with the Senior Admin role can access a student's messages by opening the student's Panorama page, and clicking the View Messages button:
From there, the target message can be found and reported as inappropriate as usual.
Managing reports from the Office
On the desktop of Senior Admin users is an Office link:
Within the office, reports of inappropriate content are presented. The Delete link may be used to remove the post from its original location:
Note that use of the Delete button does not remove the report itself; the report may be retained in the office for reference if needed.
