The Home screen serves as a dashboard for Edsby, letting users quickly and easily get to any content they might need. In this article we’ll take a look at what is on the Edsby home screen for school administrators, and how to navigate through Edsby.
Your Edsby home screen
On top of the Home screen is a blue bar containing tools with content specific to you. These include messages, your launchpad, notifications, personal folders, and account settings.
- Personal containers - these include your Edsby messages, calendar, launchpad, notifications, and personal folders.
- Search - this enables you to search for any content in Edsby, including students, parents, classes, etc.
- User Account/Menu - provides access to your account settings and logout link
- Home links - Both the Edsby Icon on the left side of the bar, as well as the Home link on the right, return you to the Home page from wherever you are within Edsby
Just below the blue bar is the news river, presenting news and announcements. These articles are visible to every member of the school - students, staff, parents, and administrators.
In the upper left corner of the home screen is a link to your school, providing access to school-wide resources.
Below the school panel, you will find the Classes panel. For teachers, this lists the classes they are currently teaching. For administrators, this panel may be empty.
Just below the Classes panel you may see an Applications panel, providing access to add-on Edsby applications such as Websby (website management), Emergency Alerts, and/or Service Hour Tracking.
In the middle of the home screen is the Groups pane, presenting the groups for which you are a member, and allowing you to explore additional groups available in Edsby.
Below the Groups panel is the Recent Activity panel, providing you with updates regarding the students you are responsible for.
In the upper right corner of the Home screen are a series of links we refer to as "Zooms." These contain school-wide data for a number of different functions such as checking attendance, report cards, and accessing full lists of students, parents, classes, etc.
Just below the zooms, you will see your calendar. This offers you a daily view of every event relevant to you, combining events from classes & groups where you are a member with school-wide events plus any items you've placed on your personal calendar.
